I wasn't sure where to post this but here goes.

I lost a Cokin 100mm graduated filter yesterday. I've had it a few years but opened it for the first time yesterday, 09/07/2021. It was my own fault as I was carrying it over my shoulder with the camera attached to my tripod and the filter still in the holder. Not a mistake I'll make again. I retraced my steps but despite it being a fairly small area, in the context of Glencoe, there was no sign of it.

I know it's probably lost to the moor forever, but if by any chance anyone stumbles upon it, please let me know.Screenshot (64).jpg

I feel your pain, Dale.
Last year in the Cairngorms, I broke one of my Nisi GNDs.
Wouldn't be so bad if it was the clear end but as Sod's Law would have it, it was the tinted end.
If that wasn't bad enough, as I unscrewed my CPL, it fell amongst the heather.
I searched high and low for it so can only assume it bounced on a rock and disappeared never to be seen again.
Now replaced but it was a costly day out

Hopefully yours will be found ;)

Ha - I dropped an 77CPL into Loch Lomond, well, I was trying to screw it into the front of a lens and it didn't screw in, but fell off. I was stood at the end of the Inveruglas jetty so would have had to dive in to retreive it. I wish I had, cost me £77.

What happened to Dale has happened to me, except I managed to find it - which was just as well as it was 2 filters and a tilt shift lens...

I like the flipside backpacks for this reason where the backpack opens from the rear, not long after that episode I switched my bags around

I hope it turns up Dale, it may be a long shot but I hope so.

I don't think I've lost anything outside... but I do seem to be good at losing things at home. I turn the house upside down and then a week later I find it in its box exactly where it's supposed to be. I'm sure it's only me. No one else could possibly do this.

I dropped a camera on the Cornish Coastal footpath - a Panasonic compact…

Went back a little later and amazingly found it in some heather at the side of the path !

Lost a Fuji lens cap on the beach at Sennen Cove and again went back later and it had been handed in to the life guard :)

Lost other hoods and caps though !

I once found a compact camera on Saltburn beach. It was smashed but on the off chance it'd work I took the memory card out and sure enough I recovered a few thousand JPEGs. I looked through them for anything identifiable and found a photo of an expense claim form for the local college showing the name on the form. I rang the collage and passed on all the info but never heard anything back.
