Losing Image Quality....can anyone help???

Hi, I'm new on here. Hoping someone can help me with my problem of losing quality from 10m mega pixels to 2.6 after cropping and changing levels in Photoshop. Any ideas on how to avoid this level of deterioration? Thanks

You'd do better asking in the Image editing section of the site - your Q may not get noticed here.
How much are you cropping and how are you saving / any example pictures.... more info needed to help really :)
 
Hi. The first thing is if you are cropping it then you are going to lose pixels.
 
Cropping from 10 mill pixels down to 2 is a big crop! Got an example uncropped image, and can you give us some reason why you need to crop that much, unless it's a bird, cos I know the answer. :D
