Last night's news reported the death of Lord Snowdon, aged 86

In my opinion he was one of the great portrait photographers of the 20th Century. A lot of people dismissed his talent by saying that his success was down to the fact that he married Princess Margaret, but any photographer who could make Princess Anne look half way beautiful, as he did more than once when she was in her teens and twenties, must have been a master of his craft.
