I have a Nikon D5000 and sb900 which works inconsistently in I-ttl. If you wiggle it in the mount it works for a bit then stops until you wiggle it some more. It's got worse over time and now is difficult to get it to make contact with the camera.

I've googled it and searched on here to no avail. I have found other issues in the search such as the D700 flickering issue for example but I can't be the only one to have had this issue.

Is there any way you can tighten the mount? (I thought I would ask on here before I start taking things to bits)

I work with electronics so I'm quite technical and have covered the basics already.

Cheers,

Matt.

Any joy with this issue mate?

I get the same trouble with a SB900 on a D90

Was only an occasional thing until last night at work (club work)
It decided to "unfriend" the camera and myself - for most of the night the flash wouldn't fire unless I had my hand on the flash holding it firmly on the hotshoe!

A worrying thought to say the least! :cuckoo:
