Beginner Looking to Connect with Other Beginners in Photography

Hi everyone,

I’m new to photography and just starting to explore the basics—composition, lighting, exposure, and all the foundational stuff. I’m really excited to dive in, but I’ve found that when I try to take on a new hobby alone, I tend to lose motivation if I don’t have others to talk to or learn alongside.

I’d love to connect with other beginners who are also just starting out. Maybe we can share what we’re learning, support each other, and grow together as photographers.

I realize my earlier post may have come across as advertising—that wasn’t my intention at all, and I’m sorry if it felt that way. I’ve removed it and just wanted to clarify that I’m genuinely here to learn and connect.

Hi TC, generally it's good forum etiquette to ask forum owners if they are ok with an advertising post. Also I'm a little curious you're giving lessons as a beginner.

Rather than delete your post, why not tell us more about your journey and what pictures you're taking right now.

And to add to Toni's comment: why not ask us if you can set up your learning circle on this forum instead? BTW thanks for changing the post etc. I think we (certainly I) would be happy to help you run it alongside our various challenges.

I know in my area, Devon there is an Exeter and Plymouth photography groups full of people just starting out. They tend to meet up once a month. Maybe worth looking in your area. I did not see the original post so have no idea what was in it
