Looking for some feedback...

WOW Shontay I must say I think you have some stunning photos on your site. I'm not sure the black on white frame round the photos works for me though maybe a mid grey would be better but I'm only saying this as a personal preference. It is fairly standard of what photography sites are about now, but the content as I say makes it a very worthwhile visit

i love the free running pic the movement in it is fab
well impressed

I found the pics to be really captivating and enjoyed going through the galleries. All the different areas are certainly bound by one very strong style, one that works for me.

As for the site, it's not doing anything to add very much to your shots for my taste. I did notice that outside of the first gallery, the shots aren't named and it comes up as "title here".

Oh wow, thank you very much for your comments :) Im so pleased!

The site to be honest is not 100% finished...what happened was that I created it and then kind lost a bit of faith in my ability so have let it die :(

For 2010 I am going to do my best and have a bit more faith and will indeed be finishing my site!

Thanks again MUCH appreciated!

Some fantastic shots in your galleries there!
Would be well worth your time finishing off that site to showcase your ability!

Go to some of the TP meets they are often in London. Check out the meeting places forum. They will soon have you back on track when you see their photos :exit:

Haha I will have a peek!

I must say its hard to stay upbeat about your own pics when you see some of the fab ones on here!!!

Anyway thank you all again, your very kind

I've decided what it is that's not working for me with the website. It feels like the photos need a little more space to breathe, there is alot of other detail with the text and the buttons in quite a small space.

Hi Shontay,

Congratulations, there are some fantastic shots on there.

I know you have mentioned that it is under development, but i also thought the borders did an injustice to some shots and it would be interesting to see what titles you assigned to each shot. Just my personal opinion though!

Great work, look forward to seeing more of it in the future.

Best wishes,

Tracey

On the whole the majority of your images are very pleasing, some are great. There are some that dissapoint too. I haven't gone through all the images, and am not qualified to critique professionally, but I notice many pics in your LS gallery, for example, lack detail in the sky, imagine how much better they would be with more than a plain white sky.

Just a little food for thought..............HTH

Thanks again for the feedback, good and bad it all helps! The problem I think I have is that I am a web designer by trade so am used to getting the website right and not so much the content!! I think I need a rethink with the site!

My only critcism with the site is that a lot of the images have the title "title here" - I'd suggest either titling them or removing the title section as this gives a very unfinished feel. Whether this falls into your "not 100% finished" or not I'm not sure, but just throwing it up in case!

I would add something to the Home page that explains who you are and what you specialise in - I know you have this on the About me page but it feels like it needs a couple of lines of introduction. E.g. Do you take commissions? Is this all personal work? Somebody visiting the site might find this helpful.

I would also be a bit more ruthless in your editing, chop any duplicates out, maybe try to restrict it to 12-15 images per section.

A few typos I spotted

Landscape page - evoqued - evoked

About me - Overtime is usually two words, Over time

Oh lord!!! Starting to wish I hadnt asked now!!! ;)

ask but keep this in mind...
do as you do and not as we say
then you learn your own way..

i cant get some of my shots to come right....most of the time...especially black to white...they just go too contrasty and burnt out..
