Hey guys,

It's my partner's birthday coming up and I'm on the lookout for a non-DSLR camera for her various loves:, she's currently using her Canon 60D + various lenses, but finds it all a bit too much of a hassle sometimes so would like a smaller camera that can cover a few bases.

She's really into writing on her Slimming World blog at the moment, so is taking plenty of pictures of food.
We love to travel, so she'll be taking lots of landscape pictures.
We've also booked a snowboard holiday in Canada for next December, so there'll be a few action shots.
We also have a cat, so cat photos galore.
It'll need the ability to shoot in RAW, as she does a lot of editing too.

I'm looking at spending around £200. Any recommendations?

Thanks :)

I picked up a used fuji x10 a few years ago as a option to travel very light. There's been a few newer models since but a very capable camera.

Long thread here

How important is ultimate IQ? The reason I ask is that if I was looking at a camera to take snowboarding it would have to be something like the Olympus tough.

FujiFilm X100F.....Utterly superb on all fronts. Not a cheap option though at £1,250 approx

Sorry about that I missed the bit about wanting a cheapie..Now feeling suitably admonished

If you don't mind a used Camera there are lots of bargains out there !
a friend has recently picked up a Fuji X A2 with XC 16-50mm ois lens boxed and in mint condition for less than £200 :)

If you are coming from a DSLR I fear you will find that any sort of camera of that budget will fail to live up.

The Sony RX100 is available for less than £200 and is a decent camera, especially in good light. I am a big fan of the Fuji range and something like an X model would be good, X100 would be perfect and probably around £200.

Olympus E-M10 MkI? I have the MkII and it's my main travel camera. However for £200 you will only be able to afford the body probably.

If you need a complete solution for £200, I'd second Simon's recommendation of the Sony RX100 MkI or II. You really want the RX100 III though because it's got an EVF, which for me is a must on very bright days outdoors.
