Is there anyway on this site to just search out pictures taken from a certain lens, as what I'm looking for as pictures taken from a Nikon 18-105 vr lens so I can study and compare. As it's hard to try before you buy, so looking this way may help me.

Although there can be differences between lenses that are apparently identical.

Unless comparison images can be pulled up to 1:1, actual size, there is very little point in comparing re-sized PP'd images displayed on you monitor.

Lens selection 'should' be based on it's intended use and the size of final reproduction....IMVHO

For the general 'hobbiest' photographer, I include myself that group, doing small-medium sized reproductions that have be PP'd, almost any 'decent' lens will do very well.

I have had expensive lenses and cheap lenses, but for the sort of stuff I do It's nigh on impossible to tell the difference looking at the final reproduction.

Unless of course, you are loaded, then Go-and-Splash-the-Cash

Looking at images on-line isn't going to tell you much about any lens! You'd be better off reading lens test reports - incisive independent ones rather than those in the popular magazines which tend to be rather glib. Also as mentioned, lenses DO vary between samples owing to the latitude of quality control during manufacture. There is no perfect world!
