I have a load of pictures up on my walls but all in different frames acquired from a variety of sources over the years. It is starting to look messy so I want to order a reasonably large number of simple black frames with cream mounts to hold A3 or A4 prints. Locl framers are quite expensive and while I have a place I've used for extra large prints in the past I would like to consider some alternatives. I don't want to spend a fortune and I am not looking for the highest end product, just something simple, reasonably priced and better quality that the IKEA ones that are an easy default choice. Any recommendations?

Hobbycraft. Ive had custom made frames from an online framer in the past and they were good but expensive. Actually three of the frames had quality issues and had to be replaced. I've since bought some very nice A2 and A3 black frames from hobbycraft which if I'd have known about beforehand I'd have used instead of the online framer.

IKEA are okay for cheap a4 / a3 frames. You can also google the brand "Nielsen" who make nice metal frames in standard sizes as well as providing moulding lengths to framers. Then for entry level custom framing at a decent price you could call Caledonian fine arts

If your looking cheap ,,,, expect to get cheap ,,,, come on ...in this world you get what u pay for ,,,, mibi in the next ,,, all things will be equal , but not in this one

Sure, but is twice as expensive twice as good? I guess not. So there is a trade-off going on and I am looking to maximise the quality to cost ratio. Saying pay more and you get better isn't really very helpful in this regard.
