good evening all

so, my other half is buying my a printer for Christmas and she's asked me to have a search as to what I want. I wouldn't say budget was limitless, maybe around the £200-£300 mark, but I'd like to try and find the finest quality printer I can for that price. I'm not bothered about A3, just A4 will do. I currently use a canon pixma printer, but I fear it has died after lack of use for several months! I use canon camera gear and the latest adobe photoshop software.

Could anyone give me some advice??

many thanks in advance!

pete

I swear by the Pixma range. Currently got both a 4850 and an old 4500. not found anything better in the price range.

well thanks for all the replies guys...... :/ ...

cheers Jim. I loved my pixma 4500 and came out with some wonderful results. I think I may stay in that range

i use an epson photo 1400 a3 6 colour ciss system works for me

good site will keep it on fav's for an upgrade option later !Thanks!

I think I got my Canon pro9500 for ~£250. It does A3+, and brill pics. However the inks are not cheap.
The MG5250 is a4 only, and has cheaper inks, For 'snaps' it is sufficient, and isn't half-bad at full size images. Ink is cheaper.
I always keep 1.5 full sets of inks spare, so tend to buy inks several at a time. It would be worthwhile checking costs before buying the printer.
If you print a little, but regularly, then consider a printer that can do a CISS system (3rd party aftermarket most of them).

Canon PIXMA Pro 9000 MARK II £200, fantastic ;)
