Ok silly question here, what happens if say your taking a photo on long exposure say 30 seconds and after 15 seconds, the camera loses power, i.e. dead battery or battery falls out, just something bizaree. Could this damage your camera? It's not happened to me but its something I was thinking about last night

You will probably lose the photo, shouldn't damage your camera in anyway though.

One of my batteries seems to be dying and doesn't seem to hold any charge and a few times now I have been shooting on very low battery and having to use on board flash, all that happens when it runs out of power is that the mirror locks up whilst taking the shot and the camera just shuts itself down.

Mine did that.

I nearly soiled myself thinking what the hell I'd done...

...All was well after putting in a new fully charged battery.
