Hello all; I am set to go to the O2 in London on 12th September. Plan is to get the Megabus from Glasgow to Victoria coach station early on the Saturday, then ideally a Megabus straight back at 1am the Sunday morning. Can anybody please tell me a) if it's possible and b) if so, the best way to get from Greenwich back to Victoria bus station in time for the bus leaving at 1am? The show I imagine will kick out about 11pm and I read that the 24 hour tube service starts on that Saturday, but only on limited lines. Cheers!

After gigs they often run a special fast service in the Thames Clipper - I took it to Waterloo but it might stop elsewhere too.

Why? Cos sailing down the Thames at night is great. It's also pretty quick.

It was announced yesterday on the news that the 24 hour tube service has been delayed from 12th September.....................

The O2 Arena is a few minutes away from North Greenwich Tube station on the Jubilee Line.

To get back to Victoria 'should' take :
15 mins Jubilee line to Green Park Underground Station change
1 min Victoria line to Victoria Underground Station (Heading towards Brixton Station)
Believe the Coach station is ~ 300 yards (6 mins) walk away.

So should be easily do-able provided you aim to leave North Greenwich by ~ 11:45pm as most tube train lines start to shut down circa 12-12:15am.
You can check the last train timetables on the TFL website here . They also have a travel planner on the website.

This. 100% spot on. You could probably do it if you leave North Greenwich at midnight, but 11:45 would be absolutely fine.

On the day, or before, use the journey planner https://tfl.gov.uk/plan-a-journey/ . This will tell you the expected fastest route and also if there are delays \ planned (or otherwise) closures on the journey.

If I was you I would also download uber as an app if you have a smartphone in case the tubes are doomed, getting a black cab is pretty difficult generally.

Edit I see lostsoulal2 has linked to this already!

Things at the 02 usually finish by 11 so you'd make the tube with no problem. There are usually queues at the station after the show but the staff are used to them so it all goes pretty smoothly. If you plan to eat in any of the restaurants at the 02 beforehand, leave yourself lots of time or get there very early, they're always chockablock (except MaccyD's).

I have to ask....what are you going to see? :-)

No true, but you probably wouldnt see Anthony Joshua having a scrap in Sauchiehall St. Im covering the night as he's fighting Gary Cornish from Inverness. Im absolutely bricking it tbh!

If you're downloading apps and have an iPhone, get Citymapper. I use it every day.

Take the jubilee line. However I would get off at Westminster and take the district/circle line from there. Should be less busy than at green park, it's only two stops.

Or alternatively get off at St James and walk so you have a bit of fresh air before getting back on to the bus. It's only up Vitoria street. Should be nice if it doesn't rain.

Would like to add that the best way to pay, if you have one, is by a bank card with 'contactless' facility.

Or Apple Pay via your phone. That is what I use all the time since its launch.
