I had to go to East London on business this morning, so I took a couple of hours off and had a whizz round Canary wharf and Docklands. It was superb, really had a great time. Never been there before but will be going again as soon as I get the chance :)

can we see pictures? Not that I don't believe you  Just wondered if you took any

I'm surprised you were not approached by security.
Canary Warf is classed as private property and you need a permit to take photos.
Trying to get a permit is a real pain as they tend to only issue them to the press and film makers.
Good on you for getting away with it :)

I had to go shopping with the missus and hated it, just thought i would let you know.:D

You did well, when Ive been to Canary Wharf / Docklands many times, and security as been very tight, they have an eye on you all the time, I take my camera but never took the risk, but thats same with allot of London, if you just go down on business and only have an hour or so to spare, it's not a place you can get out of your car and take one or two shots... not my favorite place to go

Ok, so I'm on the wrong planet. beam me up Scotty

I managed to get a permit to do some photography in Docklands when I went a couple of years ago. Just told them I was doing an AS level in photography, and they let me carry on.
Got some fantastic shots, hope to go back sometime soon!

Brother and nephew were there two weeks back early morning taking pictures and got stopped twice, they were however allowed to carry on.
