Hey guys i need some advice...

I bought a Hahnel Triad 100 tripod from LCE last week. I love the tripod its exactly what i needed. The issue i have is that i went in there and bought a sigma 10-20 the tripod (ex display) and a new battery and the only discount i got was £10 off the battery and ive only just had a chance to try it only to find that the ball head fixer doesnt lock the head.

What would you do when you whent back to explain the situation to them :rules:

"I bought this tripod and it's faulty" I guess. As it's ex-display I expect a refund will be given rather than the offer of a replacement.

yeah i will i feel stupid for not asking for a decent discount in the first place, but i really like the tripod and i wouldnt mind keeping it. It can still be tightened with the allan key but its not very practical when your trying to be quick and precice

Why not take it back get a refund and order it somewhere else?

yeah i guess so, little bit annoying and time wasting but it can be done, doubt the weather is going to be very clear this weekend so it might not matter

If you paid the full whack for the 'pod, and it's probable that you did, then you could ask for an exchange, or your money back.

Personally, if there is an issue with the one you have, I would be tempted to look elsewhere.

alright will do, theres another shop nearby that sells them so ill get refunded and get one there

check their t&C's for any sold in as is state or anything like that!

theire what with their what :suspect:

I don't think there's an issue over getting a refund but if the tripod was reduced because it was ex-display then a refund is the only offer they'll make (and have to make). If it was full price then presumably they don't have a replacement in stock so it would be wait for a delivery or a refund.

no faults were pointed out and i didnt get a discount... refund for me unless they have another one

Then tripod doesnt do what its meant to do, they have to sort it whether its replacement/fixing or money back their choice.

Although you can push for your money back

i hope you get it sorted - other wise take said tripod and swing for their heads!*

* i do not recommend violence of any sort

As far as I'm concerned, there is ALWAYS a problem with LCE,
and that is their prices.
They are enormous rip off merchants, and it never fails to amaze me just how they are still in business.

At least (occasionally) you can get a bargain from Jessops.......

Sorry about the ranty-off topic-ish post :cuckoo:

cheers for the move...

I took it back and they will have a new one in shop for me by wedensday, i will probably not buy anything in shop again, its so much cheaper online and their not very friendly considering i spent 500 quid a smile and a friendly attitude wouldnt have gone amiss. Funny when i said i wanted to try the 10-20 out because of bad copies, he said he had no idea what i was talking about and there was no such thing as a "bad copy"...

tbh using the phrase "bad copy" isn't really a good choice of words as it implies counterfeiting rather than sample variation.

he knows what i meant:) i did explain this was in terms of the photos produced not the build quality

he says he has never heard of a copy producing soft pictures or anything of the sort.
