Good evening everyone, with a week without work and alone - wife working I plan to visit London for a long day or maybe two. I don't life far away and the train gets me there within the hour. Looking for advise to capture most from the day and night. Don't mind travelling around as the city has so much to offer. Any tips for cityscapes, old buildings and street photography.

Thanks Steve, are you allowed to go up on top as a photography?

Hi woody, Citycruises.com are doing a day rover for a fiver at the moment, so you can go from Greenwhich to Westminster all day. Also the new cablecars that cross the river at the dome give great views of the Thames. I would recommend walking the south bank. I mean to do this when the weather lets me too

Thanks for the info Bryan. I have walked the southbank recently when we went to a Xmas market but weather was dull. See you are close to me and see on your introduction your looking for good places for landscapes. Just thought you might be interested in three lakes at ware lovely location with right weather and light. My brothers in law got married there, if your ever interested in meeting up I'm always looking for like minded people to shoot with.

Looks like I should take a trip to Ware at some point, thanks Woody I will let you know. I'll have a look at Google maps. Btw if you go to a Sunday service at saint Pauls you can go up to the whispering gallery for free. I havent done it muyself but might give it a go at some point, I wonder if it'd be ok to take photos during the service lol

Some good views from the top of the OXO building.

Steve.

There is a viewing platform on the 8th floor of the OXO building, most of it is used for the Harvey Nichols restaurant but there is a little section for public access.
You have to go through the entrance to the restaurant.

some great images in there, but completely disagree with Leaks St graffiti being listed, its a mess, the work there is nothing like the many excellent works around shoreditch and brick lane (if that's of interest to anyone)[/quote]

Yeah, agree, pretty awesome stuff: http://www.shothotspot.com/hotspots...e=Shoreditch,+United+Kingdom&acc=&kw=graffiti
