Locked folder help required

Folks, I made some jpegs from raw files I wanted and then copied to a disc.The program I used to copy was a free one I downloaded only to find it came bundled with a lot of added crap I didn't want, I deleted the program but it left all sorts of unwanted crap on my pc so I ended up doing a restore.Now in doing this the jpegs I had burnt to disc have now gone from my pc but remain on the disc.My problem is that when I try to open the disc its showing the files as locked( little padlock) and wont allow me to copy them to my pc. How do I unlock the images for me to view and re-copy.I don't want to go to the hassle of reworking the raw files that remain. Thanks.

Im on Win 8.1, cant remember the program name, just some little freebie that I quickly deleted..

right well without knowing what you used i can only assume that for some reason its copied the permissions from your machine onto the disk. unless youre using bitlocker?

why are you using another program to copy files?

this may help, technically its for 7 but its much the same.

I'd suggest running a virus / malware scan on the PC as well as the advice above. Malwarebytes would be a good starting point (free for home use):

See what if any creepy crawlies the original software left behind.

Thanks folks. I have just sat for the last 2hrs re-editing. I have done a scan of my system and all looks good so far. Whats the best program to copy files to a dvd? I have used Nero in the past but one I changed from XP to Win 8 its no longer on the system.

Right click on the file/files, send to D drive will get you there
