So I have struck fairly lucky, and have the second week in October booked to stay on the Llyn Peninsula. I'll be going with my fiancé, but she will be working most of the time, leaving me with a camera, and a lot of time to explore.
I've never spent time in North Wales, so it will be great to spend some time getting to explore the area.
Any recommendations for sunrise/sunset spots, and mountains to climb....I expect to make a trip up Snowdon at some point, but other perhaps more scenic walks would be great to hear about, so I can try and pack as much into my trip as possible.
Of course any other points of interest would be welcomed.
Over to you TP

Where are you staying? The Llŷn is home to both myself and Kevin O'Brian.

You win the finger on the buzzers round!!
I'm staying at Natural Retreats, as my fiancé works at the Yorkshire Dales site, and is covering at Llŷn for 10 days then.
I think it is on the West coast, approximately opposite Pwllheli. I will have a car, so reasonable travelling to points of interest is no problem at all.
Look forward to any suggestions. I have just found this guide by SimonKit which is helping to whet the appetite!!!

Nice to see my guide is coming in useful  Southern Snowdonia has plenty of gems, some I haven't managed to visit myself.. I'm thinking particularly of Cregennan lake although I'm sure Kevin and Alan will add others.

You're staying in Nefyn, not a bad start. The North coast beaches are always popular with sunset photographers and you have Porth Dinllaen on your doorstep. The local hills offer some good opportunities too. Further west Uwchmynydd gives you good views over Bardsey and back down the peninsula, Rhiw gives a sweep over Porth Neigwl. Over in Llanbedrog you have Quarry beach which makes for a good sunrise, Inland there's Garn Fadryn which is right behind my house. Plenty to see without going near a National park!

Yes, the guide is now added to my bookmarks, very helpful, and some great shots to boot.
I took a look at the lake you mention and it does look worth a visit. I'll be adding it into the "to do" list!
Thanks for your input!

Alan,
Thanks for the information. It gives me a good list of places to research while I am putting together a plan. I imagine sunsets will be more of a possibility than sunrises, with high ground to the east of where I am staying.
As yet, I haven't had time to look into any of the above mentioned places, but I will investigate them.
Really appreciate you taking the time to provide me with some info!

No worries, if you need guiding round anywhere just shout, just don't expect me to be up for sunrises!
