Live View DoF issues

So, I was playing around with my 60mm Macro 2.8 and was looking via live view (70D). What would happen is the DoF would stay constant regardless of what my aperture was at. The DoF would be at 2.8 leaving me a sliver of subject. However, when I adjusted for this and went to 22 the live view didnt change but the picture showed the difference.

Since I use my live view a bit, is there a way to reflect on to the screen what the actually being shot?

It's probably that the lens is wide open and only stops down when you press the shutter. You may have a DoF preview (or whatever it may be called) button / feature which will show the effect of changing the aperture.
