Little Owls

Down Here I used to see my local one about 2-1 hour before sun set (my only sightings of this particular one, which were regular). Unfortunatly he has not been see for a while. I fear the worst:(

Another local was normaly seen at sunrise and sunset times. However nor regular at all, just pot luck. I never had the luck with that one:( Friends have.

In Southern Spain all times of day as long as you know if there is one in that area. Seen them mid afternoon in bright sun, sunrise and sunset. I know its a different country but as I am no expert it may be the same'ish in the UK.

Thanks for that.
Yeah I've read (and seen) them in bright sunshine too. I just assume not midday as most animals lie low around then as it's so hot.

Cheers!

All day long.

Yep, Little Owls are unusual among owls in that they're active all day long.

Will you have twitter ask @richardphoto and @LMasseyImages they have been regularly visiting a Little Owl burrow for the last 2 weeks. They'll have a load of tips.

Try the North East section of Birdforum, one birder Stuart J visits near you quite often, may be worth dropping him a PM
