looking for a small camera for when the D40 isn't really suitable, only looking at spending <£100 so what are my options?

liked the look and price of the nikon s210 in jessops for £88 but read a few reviews and doesn't look all that good!

oh and dont wanna be buying batteries every time i use it so really want one with a lithium rechargable battery

Everyones taste is different, my best advice is to go to the newsagents get a mag with reviews on compacts in it. then come back here when you have narrowed down the search to a couple of choices ,then ask for some comeback........

I hate to mention fleabay----but £100 can get you a lot of P&S.I got a brand new TZ4 for £138 last year.My wifes Pentax cost £118 new and I have picked up reconditioned Olys and Panasonics for the kids for less than £80.All of these cams take great pics within their limitations.Check out the Steves Digicam site for some model suggestions and go from there. As Towershot said----Everyones choice is different. For that money you will be able to get something decent though.
Pete.

I looked at the s210 but chose the s520. Image quality is nowhere near the D40 so don't expect to use it for the same type of photography but it can produce very good images. I paid £99.00 at Currys. Carry it all the time. It tends to oversharpen and over contrast the images. Loads of barrel distortion but it is great as a tiny pocket camera that won't make you stand out in a crowd. Just wish it had a manual mode.

Hope this helps.
