:help: hi all im new to photography just bought my first dslr and want to get into wildlife photography im looking for somebody to take me out with them a couple of times to show me the ropes can any one help please

Native Imp here.

I can't offer to take you out with me, I only go there to see my Mother now and then these days but I can point you in the right direction for good places to shoot.

The footbridge over Broadgate is a good start for trying long exposures;

The abandoned Bracebridge mental asylum is pretty cool (Though i moved away three years ago so they're probably flats or something by now);

Obviously the cathedral is nice to shoot, the marina, the bailgate in general is quite good, theres usually something worthy of a little street photography. Bishops palace provides an awesome view of south Lincoln whereas the south common has awesome views of the city / cathedral. Whisby nature park has Bird feeders with an alright hide type thing to stick a telephoto lens through;

You're quite lucky in the fact that as far as cities go, Lincoln is pretty photogenic. Buy a book such as The Digital Photography Handbook (they're £5-£10) and just get out with your camera, you'll soon pick it up i'm sure.

Kev, it might be an idea to look at posters details in the critique section, it gets a lot more action than this part of the forum, then ask them individually where the good local areas are. Just an idea, if you're ever Manchester way, drop me a PM.
