Hi all am wanting to buy a air cushioned lightstand which i can use with a boom arm when needed, but not sure which one, have seen the calumet mf6065 which looks pretty good, i have also thought about the manfrotto ranker stand 1005bac anyone any thoughts on either or any other recomendations

That might not be the best way of doing it...
1. There's no real point in using an air cushioned stand with a boom arm, they're for use with flash heads, to avoid damage if you forget to support the weight of the head when lowering it.
2. There are very few stands capable of supporting the weight of a boom arm + head + modifier safely, and with the extra weight involved the air damping would do little or nothing anyway.

Your best bet may be the Lencarta Home studio boom arm, it's a hefty bit of kit with a heavy duty stand that's up to the job.

Garry, that link take you to the home model (out of stock) Perhaps it needs to link with the better one?

thank you for the replies, it is a bit of a compromise i know, as the stand would be used without the boom arm as well. Will have a rethink.

It's in stock, maybe you're looking at a cached version of the page = Ctrl F5 will serve the current version.

Garry - are these now back in stock ?
I have been wanting one for ages, though right now might not be the best time for me as money is tight - have you got plenty (silly question I know..)

Edit - seems our posts crossed - my page was clearly a cached version too !

Calumet do a on air cushioned version of that stand. I loathe air cushioning....

The un cushioned version is £55, look for '13.5'' stand
