lightroom

hi all, hopefully just a quick one, when i shoot in raw (.nef) and import my photo into lightroom, i'll click on one of the images which looks great but as soon as its loaded lightroom auto changes the setting changing my photo, how do i stop this as it's bloody annoying

IIRC when you import to lightroom, the first time the picture is rendered it's actually in JPEG format, but after a second or two it reverts to RAW with no adjustments added to it.

I think. There was a similar question to this not so long ago on here, so a search might throw up something more useful!

ah ok that makes sence, so the image it changes too is what i shot in raw

Yep - that's my understanding anyway.

The preview in your camera is the jpeg version with the in camera processing - it may be that your camera is applying a style to the RAW as well - In LR3 you can also apply these as part of the develop settings (one of the bottom options on the RHS)
