Lightroom v1.2...where can I get it?

I might just be being a bit thick here, so be kind....I am a bit of a dunce at computing things. :)

I have decided to get Lightroom as I tried the 30 day free trial and it was amazing. However, I couldn't find it in PC World and when I Googled it, all I could find was version 1.1 on Amazon.

Do I have to pay for 1.1 and then pay again to upgrade, or can you just get v1.2, and if so, where from?

The latest version of lightroom is 1.3.1.

The biggest improvement came with version 1.2, all the others are "bug fixes" mainly for Mac's new OS and newer camera support.

If you get the version 1.1 from Amazon you can upgrade to 1.3.1 free of charge. In fact all you need to do is enter the serial no that comes with the box , if you are already running 1.3.1, you don't need to install 1.1

Use the 30 day trail, you can then either purchase on line, all you get is the serial no, or order from Amazon, and get the CD and box.

My copy came from Amazon in 48 hrs.

1.2 broke import from device (i.e card reader), which now works under 1.31.

Sorry for going OT a bit but you've got me curious....I've got 1.2 but it still detects my card when plugged into the reader and d/loads all the images :thinking:
 
I've just update to 1.3 and it's wrecked everything. Files missing, edits missing. PITA.

As they say "ain't broke don't fix it". I had no problem with card readers when I upgraded to 1.2. Might be a problem isolated to that computer. Nice to know 1.3 fixed the problem

Check out Matt K's lightroom killer tips pod casts. Lots of tips. Not all Killer but then you wouldn't watch it if were called boring old tips.

If you haven't already get i-Tunes and type lightroom in the search engine when you've podcasts selected.

My feelings exactly, though having read Kev's post above about his experience of upgrading to 1.3 I definitely think I'll give it a miss for now.
