Lightroom Trick - Help!

Some time ago I'm sure that I read that you could increase the movement of sliders below 0 and above 100 by simultaneously holding down a keyboard key. Was I dreaming or is this possible with Lightroom?

I suppose, for example, to be able to draw out even more shadow detail than 100 would give.

You cannot go beyond full black (0,0,0) or full white (255,255,255) so what's the point?
