Lightroom starter

Hi,

I am very new to both this forum and Lightroom - I've not really used either yet!...but I have some images in Raw which I need to make some changes to (and 'photoshop') and also process into Tiff.

What I want to know is, do I make the photoshop / Lightroom changes whilst the file is still Raw, before I process them into Tiff, not the other way round?

I've read on another thread here how to process them into Tiff, so will give that a try...

Yes - you process the raw file - because that is non-destructive - then convert to tiff.

Is there a beginners/idiots guide to using lightroom that you folks recommend?

I did Google, but out of sheer idleness,I thought i`d ask you good chaps before trawling the myriad of links.

I really rate the Martin Evening book.

As for processing the image, just import it into Lightroom, process it, then export it, that's pretty much how Lightroom works.

I'd second Martins Book

It's really not rocket science but takes a little time to get to know you way around.
