In lightroom2.3 i have set up the 'Export' to save the image in a folder that i set up called 'SEP 09' in my '2009' folder in the 'Picures' folder on my hard drive, on my iMac....phew!

I name the files manually as i find it's easier to know where my files are. I have just found that in lightroom on the left i can access folders for each set of Raw files that have been imported from my memory card for that session of pics taken. All these folders are sitting in my 2009 folder.

So the question is: Can i change the destination of where the automatically created folders sit. I would like to create a folder just for these folders but have no idea how to get lightroom to put the new folders it creates in there. I have had a look but can't find an option for this. Lightroom still puts monthly backups in the backup folder in the Lightroom folder in Pictures.

Hope this makes sense!

The input module will allow you to generate folders where you want. You've got several options within the input dialogue boxes.

You can also move them within the library module. Right click the root directory and select "Create folder" option, and then move the files.

As far as backups are concerned are concerned are these the ones that Lightroom automatically backs up once a month for you. You can change this when the back up screen appears Use the chose option to select the location for the back up. Remember though this is simply the Database back up not you images back up. You need to do that manually or use some automated backup utility

Thanks for the info but i have no idea what you're on about. Whats an input module?

The bit with the options after you select your CF card/camera/folder to import from ;)

Do you mean the window that appears when i insert my CF card into the reader?
