I hope someone can help me, how do I stop Lightroom opening automatically when I turn the laptop on.

It is driving me mad.

Maybe try looking at the Lightroom preferences although it sounds like a preference has been ticked/checked during installation which opens Lightroom upon start up maybe.

check the Auto import options also, if you have an auto import from disk set up that can cause this

Good point Hugh mate, if you have a card reader plugged in etc, then auto import from device will fire up LR too.
