Lightroom printing problems

I'm just getting started on lightroom for the first time, haven't read up on it yet but I find that when I print a photo using the lightroom print window it does not match the colour and density of the same image printed through Photoshop (It's very differnent darker, lower sturation and yellow hue)

No doubt I'll sort this when I learn to drive it properly but in the meantime any suggestions would be most welcome.

I take it you have selected the correct profile and options in colour management?

To be honest I spent a while struggling with Lr2 and the print module, while its fine for individual images its painful when you are trying to fit lots on single A3 or A2 sheets. I use Qimage now which isn't expensive and much better once you are used to the interface...
 
I have let the printer manage the colour on this ocassion. Thanks for your help. John
 
Not an overly helpful answer, but I have given up using Lr for printing. As far as I can tell I have Photoshop and Lr set to the same profiles/options (including removing all profiles etc) and Lr just insists on doing its own thing, it seems incapable of printing any browns, they all go green. Its very odd...and annoying!
 
Ideally printing from both Lightroom and Photoshop should be done through a colour managed system using printer profiles. Doing this I've found Lightroom to give reasonable results. However to get more accurate results, you do need to soft proof, something Lightroom can't do at the moment ( hopefully the final release of LR3 will !).

Also Lightroom 3 ( in Beta form ) has a much improved print module, for printing multiple images on one sheet . In fact you could do this with Lightroom 2 with a small hack to the preference file. Detail's in Lightroom Killer tips

but you can do it in LR3 (Beta) now easily.
 
I have also given up using LR for printing and use PS. I have made custom calibrated profiles for the ink/paper I have and I just know how to use these with PS and couldn't get them to work the same with LR. Saying that, even with the custom profiles PS seems to print a little darker than the screen would suggest.
