This may have been asked before and im sorry if it has.

Which software do people use. I use Photoshop cs5 at the min. Im kinda feeling its bit to much for me.

I used to take photo in JPEG but after reading about RAW ive started to play with that.

People seem to say lightroom is a easyer version of photoshop to understand

People views please

Lightroom was designed for digital photographers - photoshop was not! Photoshop came out around the middle 80's and is really a design programme - although of course it does process pictures too. LR is 100 times faster to work with pictures and it catalogues them for you too. Download a free trial and have a play.

Both programes are used by digital photographers, photoshop has a lot more editing options and can do a lot more, lightroom is more an image workflow with cataloging and editing web and slideshow options.
Lightroom is much quicker and easier for editing lots of images with basic edits, if your doing complicated stuff with layers and cutting/pasting you'll have to use photoshop (LR doesn't do that)

I started off with LR and found you could do so much with it. (Prior to learning my way around CS5)...

If you combined the 2 then you would have a knock out package!
