Lightroom on 2 Macs - How to move pictures from one to another?

Have LR on my imac as well as Macbook. I tend to use my imac as the main computer for keeping stuff on but often import pics on my Macbook and process in LR as I am often out (or too lazy to go downstairs!).

How do I move my RAW pics in LR on Macbook to LR on imac? I did connect the computers up using AirPort and then tried to drag a folder with a couple of pics on into LR, and it showed up in the folders list but they didnt show up when I opened LR itself.

I guess one way is to export all RAW files to a cd and copy but is there an easier way?

Are you intending on keeping the library in sync between the two, or do you just want to move over files you have finished with?

The former is difficult and the latter is easy:

Export finished files as .DNG, then import back into Lightroom, it will have all the metadata/processing stored. Or export as a catalog then import the whole catalog into your other Lightroom install. I find the first method is easier though.

I always use the second method as I wasn't aware of the DNG method.
Gonna give that a try as soon as I get back to base!

I just export as a catalog those that are not in the catalog on the iMac and do it that way. No need to export / import the whole catalog.
