My LR is installed on c drive, with the catalogue and back up files also on c drive (and back up elsewhere). All my photos are on another internal drive, my H drive. This is getting full and I want to upgrade it and clone across onto another larger drive then remove the smaller drive.

If I use cloning software like acronis and copy my H drive. Will lightroom still pick up all my photos and changes or will I have to re-find and link the pictures to lightroom and restore the catalogue files?

Or is there a simplier way to upgrade HDD sizes, put all your pictures on and have lightroom pick up all your pictures and edits?

Thanks for any help :)

If you replace the drive, and still call it H:, LR should still find the images.

If you call it another drive letter, all you need to do is when a ? is shown in the Library module, right click on the root directory and there is an option to find missing files.

What he said, if the drive has the same letter and the folder structure is the same then should be fine.

Worst case your collections will have ? on them, just right click the collection and locate the missing images.

Thanks guys, the edits I have made to the pictures should still be applied? The cat file is on my C drive after all, is that right?

Yes
