Lightroom - modifying and saving files

Hi

I understand that when using Lightroom v2 that any amendments made to the pictures are not saved to the file, but are held in the lightroom database

I have a number of files I want to touch up, and then ensure that the changes are written to the file so I can view them in other applications etc - how do I do this?

oops gettin picky now - Ideally i dont want to use TIFFS (Too big and I dont see the value in them? - presume there is one :shrug - I'd rather just commit the changes i make in lightroom to the original DNG if possible somehow?

Get LR to write the changes to the XMP sidecar file then the edits go with the file and can be seen in any other app that also reads the XMP data. Failing that, export to jpeg.
