I have bought the photography plan-photoshop, lightroom and 1TB storage.
You get your code and use it when your current plan expires.
When you use it your current plan gets overwritten by the new one. My current plan runs until September 2026. I will then use the code which is stored in my Adobe account. Just to be safe I have archived the email with the code and instructions.

I've read that the code will work for 12 months from date of purchase, so probably a good idea not to buy too soon.

I am still on the 20GB photography plan, paid up until the end of next month. Looking at my options to renew it is either:
  • Pay £14.99 a month to keep what I have
  • One off £61.99 for Lightroom only - I need to check if this includes Adobe Portfolio
  • One off £98.99 for the 1TB photography plan

I believe you will also have the option to switch to annual payment for the 20GB plan, at ~£120/year

There appears to be conflicting views on when you can commence the 1gb plan (I'm on the 20gb plan ending next month).

Does anyone have the definitive answer as to when you can commence the new plan?

Thanks, but I'll be giving that one a swerve.

I guess we had it good for too long, I know a lot of people complained, but I thought that the £9.99p/m (or cheaper on Black Friday) for Lightroom and Photoshop was good value. Not sure that I can justify the extra £30 for to add Photoshop now though, I probably only use it a couple of times a year.

Probably best to check with Amazon.

I agree with the previous monthly cost being good value, Lewis.
Personally, I can do without Lightroom and just use Photoshop alongside Photolab 9
Not sure what I'm going to do yet when my current subscription runs out next October
I've been buying the Amazon BF deal for the last few years but I have still squirrelled away the monthly fee so I have quite a nest egg sitting in wait ;)

So it was good value when paid monthly, but not as an annual fee for the same total amount?

Having said that, I can see why the new option of just LR at a lower price is appealing if you only occasionally use Photoshop (I'm still on pre-pay via Amazon, and haven't yet decided if I'll stick with the plan but pay annually, or switch to the cheaper option)

I thought that the 20GB Package was a good deal for Lightroom AND Photoshop together, especially if you paid annually on the Black Friday deals. Paying the same price for only Lightroom isn't such a good deal, even if I rarely use Photoshop these days.

Don't understand their new pricing model.
Looks like its cheaper to get the Lr + Photoshop than Photoshop alone
My workflow is upload to Lr then do all my editing in Photoshop.
Lately I have been doing my RAW conversions in PL9 then finishing off in Photoshop.
So, I've got 11 months to workout a new workflow procedure :(

I'd imagine it's to get users locked into the whole LR/PS workflow. Then you can increase the prices in subsequent years

I bought this package last week but, on reflection, I can't live with PS.

If anyone wants to buy the code off me (unused, obviously!), I'll knock £10 off, so £51.99.

Can i buy one of these as an existing subscriber? the offer says that its for new subscribers?

Hi Furq, can I get you to start a thread offering this in the 'for sale misc' section please, as per forum rules. Leave a link from here to that thread because of the obvious connection, but we want to keep all transactions in the right place. Thanks for your understanding

If I already have an existing LR/PS plan that runs until early next year, does anyone know if I can buy the 1TB LR/PS plan for the discounted £98 but not actually activate it until when my existing plan runs out. Thanks in advance.

Do we know if this is the case? It does say:

Creative Cloud Photography Plan 1TB is a different subscription than Creative Cloud Photography Plan 20GB. Purchasing this will NOT extend or renew Creative Cloud Photography Plan 20GB subscription with Adobe

should i be wary before purchasing?

Is this a digital code i can add to my account, if not, how do I active it? My current stacked plan runs out in Jan

Can i stack them like the old one?

So many questions!!!

I've just gone with the Lightroom version, as I barely go into Photoshop.
Having just had my computer upgraded I found I could no longer get my LR 6.14 working so I had to buy one of the new packages. I went for the LrC (eventually via Amazon Black Friday £61.99) to replace my LR 6.14. As for Photoshop I was able to gewt my Elements 15 to l oad so I am still using that but tbh I only really use it for resizing files for upload (on here mainly) and very occasionally the Clone Stamp Tool (which imo is still better than even the new LrC). Not sure what I would have done if my E15 wouldn't load as a new sub to PSE is still way more money than it would be worth for me.

It still galls me severely that Adobe no longer authenticates LR 6.14 as it was meant to be a lifetime license particularly as it did (and still does on my old laptop) everything I needed.

Lr 6 won't run on current Mac's because it's 32bit. Are you using Mac or PC?

Good point about Elements. I used it alongside Lightroom quite happily until I eventually went to the subscription model. So, when my pre-paid stuff runs out, I might just buy an older version of elements (the ones without the licence period) and go back to that. I only really use Photoshop for layers and colour popping and so on. If Lightroom ever got those in a decent format, Photoshop would be redundant for me.

PC Toni but believe me we tried everything to get it to run before I bit the bullet. The guy who does my computer stuff for me has managed to get it to work through every other upgrade but this time nothing he treid worked.

Frustrating. I had a feeling that one day they would turn off the activation servers. Guess my copy won't work now either. :(

We got round it in the past by cloning my C Drive so that LR thought it was just still active but this time the cloned C Drive wouldn't work with the new upgraded mother board so it was stick with the now ageing (and slow) one or buying a subscription and since the new kit for the upgrade was around 700 quid (inc a new Win 11 license) which would have been wasted I had no choice really. The daft thing is the new stuff isn't really that much faster as the newer programme is more memory hungry. :headbang:

My understanding is that you need to cancel the original subscription, then activate the new one. Mine expires in December, so I'l try to remember to update this thread with how I get on.

There is a lot of misinformation. I suggest you contact Adobe and/or Amazon. Even then get it in writing .

for the sake of risking interuption I am tempted just to let it role onto the £15.99 a month or whatever it is in January...

Well, I messed that one up...

I went to cancel my old 20GB plan, and ended up switching to the new Lightroom plan from that screen and got shared for 1 months access. It also started from today, which is a bot annoying, because if you cancel it carries on going to the end date, but if you change is starts your new term immediately. Not cool Adobe.

Then when I went to redeem my code for the 12 months it added that on to the month I have already paid for, so now I am paid up until 17th January 2027.

My advice would be to redeem the new one, then cancel the old one.

Has anyone ever looked at the lightroom classic option from wowcher £29 for perpetual licence? same price for photoshop

I didn't think Adobe were offering a perpetual license for their products any more. Is this real?

These sites are best avoided. I tried something like this before and Adobe threatened to lock my account and had to prove to Adobe that not all the years I stacked up were "from these fake sites codes", and that they are from Amazon EU.
