Lightroom closing with unencountered error

Once a day, Lightroom 1.1 starts closing with an unencountered error after starting up. It is as it is loading the initial photo on the screen. Im wondering if its a catalogue problem.

To counter this I have to reinstall lightroom.....its the only way.

Anyone else have this problem?


I find it strange that once reinstalled i can work on it all day. shutting and opening the program. then alll of sudden it starts again.

Perhaps it will be back to Lightroom 1.0 for me.
 
did your pc crash while using light room? if so try reboot. If this does not work try clearing out your temp files. Type %temp% in run command and delete files beginning with ~ with or with the extension .tmp

You be surprised how many issue this will clear, include some performance related issues.
 
I have had the same problem and get around it by quickly clicking on 'library' if I'm in develop or vice versa. Do it as soon as you can see these when lightroom loads.
 
I had this problem and went to the Adobe support site. I renamed the preferences file and it created a new one on startup and that seems to have cured it.

Don't mind me, just taking a short break while good ol' reliable aperture streaks through some processing.
