Hi all,

I am a PC user and I have just upgraded from Lightroom 4 to Lightroom CC, The reason for this is that I now have a Fuji X-T1 and Lightroom 4 doesn't accept the raw files.

I'm trying to edit a newborn shoot on my PC which I shot last week and its Sooo Slow its unbelievable!

My 3.5Ghz 6 Core processor is maxed out most of the time even though its only using 50% of my 12Gb of ram. The images are being edited off the 120Gb solid state operating system drive and that has 20Gb of free space.

I never had issues like this with Lightroom 4, Is this normal for newer software? I thought my PC was pretty well specced until this???

Its using 20% CPU power and 4Gb of RAM just sat at idle doing nothing?

I had that with LR6 so returned to 5.7 which fortunatly all my gear is happy with re raw convert............I did get a refund from adobe..........I tried several installs and tweaks to no avail..........

I dont know what it is with mine some have no issues but initially after install it seemed fine then increasingly sluggish to the point of unusable taking minutes to load anything and I had all features off on and in varies mixes.

5.7 just works fine 6+ no chance.........I never did find out why

I was running on a Dell Xeon with quad core dual processors 12GB ram SSD and a good graphics card and win 7

It may be that it just doesn't like some hardware configurations

If it means anything my performance scores in win7 are 7.8 or higher :)

I posted the other week about a memory leak that.might be the culprit, particularly if it worsens the longer the app is open . Try renaming the video cache folder...

Are you running an AMD? If so try unparking the cores (can be done whilst browsing for an Intel processor ;))
