Hi all,
Pretty happy with LR4 and dropping out to CS6 occasionally. Are there many third party plugins I'm missing out on? The Fex ones get a good rep.
What about third party noise reduction etc?
Are there any plugins that you can't live without and if so why?
Would be really interested in seeing what everyone's using....

Can you post a link for the 'Fex ones'?
I'm a big Nik fan though I'm becoming aware that using loads of different & seemingly convenient plugins can quickly lead to artefact hell. Minimal processing to get where you want to is always best.

Thanks. What scenarios do you use them for? Does it do stuff you just can't do in LR/PS?

I only use 'basic' LR and PS. I'm not sure what add ons would give me that I couldn't do with my own actions.

When I want to use selective adjustments or (with Topaz) when I want to make subtle or exteme changes (With Topaz you basicall need to use layers & layer masks of you want selective changes) . With Nik it really is a lot easier with control points.
These plug ins just speed up your wokflow - reducing some complex PPing to just a few button clicks.

Two examples.
#1 From June 2013
Basic B&W conversion with Silver Efex Pro (one button click - once in Silver Efex)
Parts of the track darkened and detail brought out around the exhaust pipe using control points.

#2 From an old vacation snapshot. Original was in RAW.
Again Nik Silver Efex Pro
Control ponts used to increase the contast in the clouds and bring out detail in the scape.

LR and PPS8 for me. I have PS CS5, but I am finding PPS8 easier to use for stuff that LR can't do (or can't do well).
