Edit My Images
Yes
hi all last night after a couple of vinos i did a clean up on my laptop and now when i open my edited images folder all the pics are just in blue boxes? before it showed all the images in the small boxes any ideas iv tried everything i can think of you have to open every box to see what the pics are?

also what size ie ppi or ppcm do you export at and whats the general lightroom pre set number as all exported images are tiny now iv obviously upped the size just wondering what it should be its lightroom 5.7.2 i believe not sure how it got changed but it did
thanks in advance

Sorry your post is very confusing. Can you clarify exactly what you are asking for

Did you completely wipe the laptop and do a new installation of Lightroom? If so, did you save the catalog, beforehand?

sorry right on my laptop i used to be able to view all my images on my hard drive in the folder everything was in little boxes as small images so you could see what it was before opening it all the boxes are now just blue with the windows picture symbol in them only way to view them is to open them one by one

no i just did a disc clean up and removal of background programs slowing me down

i did not wipe lightroom just the un used files on windows

for lightroom i was asking what size in pixels per inch or cm is in your box for export as it got accidently changed (by my very helpful 2 year old)

sorry if my op was confusing

It sounds like your disc cleaner removed the application or codec required to view the images - I am assuming you are talking about in windows only, rather than lightroom.

I export at the size/density required for the job: for screen work 96ppi, and for printing 300ppi.

When you have the folder open has the view option been changed to list or details? Go to view at the top of the folder and try some different options.

In windows explorer, at the top right, is a drop down context menu. This will allow you, to set the option, regarding viewing files. As Brian states, you probably have it set to list or details and should change it to one of the icons viewing options (XL, L, M or S).

The exporting from LR dialogue will allow you, amongst other things, to alter the dimensions of your image as well as the quality and dpi. 72 dpi is fine for some websites, but would be rubbish for printing, which would require 200 - 300 dpi. Just a matter of the right selection based on where it will be displayed.

top marks to the man above i got them back many thanks
