For the last couple of years I have been using the Nikon D3s for all my wildlife work and never had a problem with any slowing in Lightroom or Photoshop.

I'm now looking to buy a Nikon D810 for a bit of landscape work, some of this will be stitched panoramas in Lightroom. Can anyone please advise if the much bigger sensor (36.3mp) on the D810 is likely to cause me problems in Lightroom or Photoshop?

Been playing with LR6 on the laptop, and one of the first things I did was to do a pano (I love pano, and If I could do them right would be great) off about 8 shots from the D810. Yes it will get the cpu ( i7 2670QM) to stretch its legs a bit more than it did with the D700 files, but nothing to worry about. What did surprise me slightly was that when stitching it did take all of the 8GBs of memory the laptop has.

Thanks Mark. Stitching 8 images is way above what I was thinking of, 3 or 4 seem to be the maximum I've stitched together so far.
