I had hoped Lightroom could do this, but I can't seem to make it work.

I import photos from an event (Toyota Sprint event), and I build up a collection for each different model of car [celica / mr2 / starlet / supra], with subcategories within each for each driver.

What I'd like to do is then batch process all the images, but with the output images in the same structure as the collection.

Seems it won't - unless any of you Lightroom fiends knows how to do it...

Does Aperture offer this functionality?

The only way to do this is to put the images in subfolders for each car.

This isn't difficult as you can simply select the images from one collection and then export. Whilst that's on the way go to the next collection, and so on. You can queue jobs up in export so it doesn't wast time

Thanks Chappers,

Was hoping for a more automatic solution - ie click 'go' switch off monitor, shut door, go to bed, and wake up in the morning with everything done...

Will check out LR2.0 beta to see if its in there...

if i understand the question correctly i think you could do it in aperture 2.0

create the folders you want on the desktop.
then select the pics you want in one folder and export them. before thats finished select the pics for the other folder and export them etc etc
it should queue them all up
