Hi,

I have a problem that I can't resolve, and Adobe doesn't seem to have support for their products.

SFTP upload is broken, get the message "FTP transfer failed with message 'an unknown error occurred'. My sshd log looks fine, and starts up the sftp subserver, but no further log entries after that. Oddly, it works to my in-house server which is pretty identical, so I'm thinking it's a firewall problem?

I'm not keen on installing ftp just for this, but if there is no solution to get sftp working, maybe I will just have to do that?

So sftp works to your home server, so it's not the Adobe product then that's the issue.
Can you sftp from another device to your desired destination? Have you still got it on port 22? Is this open on your firewall and external device?

Hi,

I use ssh and sftp daily, and it works with winscp from the same PC that runs Lightroom. So, it may or may not be a firewall problem, but somehow it only affects Lightroom. I also tried disabling the firewall, but it didn't help.

Running tcpdump on the firewall shows traffic flowing fine, right up until the ssh daemon calls the sftp subserver, which starts, but then traffic just stops. It's almost like it's a permissions or maybe a protocol version mismatch.

Thanks

How are you using SFTP in lightroom - a plugin or using the web module and chosing sftp?

Edit - just tried mine and it uploaded the files through sftp, I'm running 6.3 standalone

I go to the web publish module and choose sftp for upload.
