I'm looking to import all images that are taken with a 30mm f/1.4 on a 1Ds (shot RAW) to crop as soon as they import, is there anyway I can set the crop and make this a preset maybe? Or is there any other software I can use that would handle this to save me a lot of time?

Cannot you just use the copy and paste function

crop the first - highlight the rest and then paste the settings to them all

or does it just only work one by one?

With Photoshop you can create an action which will crop, save and close (or whatever you want it to do basically...you record what you do and then save the action and when you press the 'play' button it will carry out the series of actions. Not sure how it would know where you want to crop though, how would any software know that?
 
The only way I can think to do this would be to use the first imported frame within the develop module. Crop this , and then use the synchronize option with just the aspect ratio selected
