Has anyone else experienced this with LR5? You want to clone out say, a spot on a subject's face - and instead of selecting a similar area of skin, it goes a bit mad and selects a completely different texture or area? often a good stretch away from where you're working on!

This is happening to me a lot. Is there some way of taming it? Often it happens when I'm working at 100% so it means I have to go dragging about to find where the clone spot selected and manually move it to a better area.

Not really. It happened once, but it was the right colour/texture so it worked out

Its happening here a lot, when I click to sort out a blatant spot, it's grabbing a selection from way off, will try get an example here.

Just a quick example as I'm working on some pics from a pregnancy shoot - you can see it's selected a much brighter area, I had to scroll left to see where the clone tool had run off too.

Trying to clean up some stretch marks on request, photoshop is probably the better option for this but I thought the clone tools in LR5 were supposed to be much better than 4. It's the main reason I upgraded.

Are you cloning or healing?

Remember healing is looking for a similar texture, not colour.

That could well be it, will give both a good testing. In LR4 there was just cloning, this was indeed on healing. Cheers ;)
