Lightroom 5.3 time for a CPU upgrade?

Finally got round to updating Lightroom to 5.3. The desk top is now pretty slow in opening up the photos. Spec of the desk top is E6850 CPU with 4GB of ram (max for the board) and a 120GB SSD drive. The change is not going to happen now but most likely towards the end of the year. I would look to keep the SSD and go up to 16GB of ram. But what CPU (most likely stick with Intel) is it better to go with a faster i3 or a slower i5 if the chips are around the same money?

i5 from your choices but an i7 would be even better if you can find one for similar cash
