Hi,
I have Lightroom 4 and when I want to edit my in Photoshop a box comes up and says
"This version of Lightroom may require the Photoshop Camera Raw plug-in version 7 for full compatibility"
and then goes on to say to update camera raw.
There are then the options "Render using Lightroom" "Open anyway" and "cancel"
I have updated Camera Raw to the newest version but the warning is still coming up.
Any help apreciated 'cos it's driving me nuts :bonk:
Thanks Clare

Until ACR 7.0 is released, which will be with Photoshop CS6 I am sure, there will be a mismatch between LR and Photoshop; you, I, and everyone, will be getting those messages, so we will have to be brave and live with it. :D

At least with 6.7RC we can handle the transition from LR to PS more easily and although 6.7 doesn't have the new LR4 develop sliders, I understand the LR4 adjustments are honoured 'under the bonnet' as the image progresses into Photoshop.

does this problem persist if you export as a dng? I guess it does. So the only option really available is to export as tiff

Thanks for your replies and yes even if I export as a Tiff the message come up. It's not really a problem just one of those little things I find anoying.

Which is best to click, Render using Lightroom or Open anyway?

If you 'render in Lightroom' then a tiff is created prior to the transition to PS. 'Open anyway' means the image is passed to PS via ACR and then into PS in the normal way. Obviously in this latter case, upon completion of the PS work, 'save' sends the image back to LR in the format you choose.

Anthony.
