When I export a file into Photoshop the dialog box where it asks if you want to edit original etc has disapeared and the file goes straight to Photoshop.

When I have finished editing in Photoshop I close off the file and click save and in the past the file is then in a stack with the original in Lightroom now the edited file is nowhere to be seen and when I tried to import it into Lightoom off the hard drive I get a message saying there is nothing to import!

This is causing me a very big problem any help greatly appreciated

thanks Clare

I see there is a complete silence from the Lightroom experts.:)

There is no way to disable that dialogue box which makes me think it may be a damaged preference file causing your problems.

One thing to note is that doing a reinstall will not fix a damaged preference file as it will use the old preference file on reinstalling.

It's not as easy to reset the preference file as it is in Photoshop so if you wish to try resetting it, then I suggest reading this here, it will save me explaining it all.

I was also having this issue, I think it is a known issue in Lightroom 4.0, it seems to be fixed in the Lightroom 4.1 RC which I have upgraded to.

As a afterthought you could try this go to preferences in the General Tab and at the bottom click on 'Reselect all warning dialogues' then send an adjusted image from LT to Photoshop selecting Edit a copy with Lightroom adjustments in the resulting dialogue box, it may just work .
