Lightroom 3 - Replacing Flickr photos????

Hello all,

You may have read this elsewhere as it is a widely discussed issue, but I can't seem to find a simple answer to this simple question, so hopefully you will be able to provide this

I currently use the standard Flickr plugin for Flickr published service, and I made a few adjustments to some photo's in my catalogue that are already on my Flickr published service as 'published'. Obviously now they are in the 'Modified photo's to republish' section - if I let Flickr republish these, will I lose all of my views, comments and faves, etc? I have a Pro account, so I'm assuming that Flickr will just replace the image file and will keep the comments, views, faves, etc?

I don't want to run the risk of Flickr treating the republished photo's as new photo's and thus losing all of my hard-worked comments and views!

Any help on this will be very appreciated

As I understand it you have to click on the Flickr photostream for the already published pics, then click on the pic you want to edit, go to the develop module and do whatever you want to do, go back to Library module - publish panel, click publish and that should update your pic...............perhaps it's worth an experiment with a trial pic.

I have flickr pro & it keeps all comments & faves after re-publishing. Using latest LR & normal flickr plugin

Mine definitely does anyway

If you have a Flickr Pro account it replaces the image.

Thanks you two, tested it the other day and you're right, but it seemed to get rid of the descriptions for some reason. But that's not a big prob.

Just put your title in the title area in the metadata tab & IIRC add the description as the caption

As above, I have it upload my IPTC caption as the description, so those are kept in sync too.
