I shoot in RAW and understand that what I see when imported into Lightroom is going to be very different from the camera screen (JPEG).
Is there any way for the imported image to look as per the JPEG?
Does anyone have LR preset/settings that match or are pretty close to the lcd version?

You may ask why not just shoot in JPEG and avoid LR?
Well, what I would like to do is use the camera's interpretation as a starting point.

Everyone sets their camera up different to process JPEG's. In fact, without knowing which JPEG setting you use yourself it's impossible to suggest. Why not experiment and create some of your own presets, or experiment with the basics that LR offers?

However I've always found it best to import them with no settings at all, then use settings afterwards. You can mass sync them all so it really only takes a few seconds longer.

I seem to remember seeing presets to mimic canon and nikon camera options (normal vivid etc) but I can't remember where... it might have been lightroom killer tips, or it might not. Sorry thats not much help.

If you scroll down to bottom of the adjustments in "develop" module. The Canon presets are at the bottom under the camera adjustments panel. I don't know how accurate these are though. You could try using the shoot RAW and JPEG setting in camera to get the best of both worlds
