Yes
I see in Lightroom 3 that the standard crop ratios are in inches and it is possible to Custom your own settings.
Can you set these to mm rather than inches as I tend to use the A4 measurement of 297 x 210mm
Thanks
Dave

Thanks Graham - No, you are not being really thick, I did not know that it would interrpret mm as well as inches so my error.....clever this L3, aint it!!
Dave

Thanks Jason for the added info.

One thing all ratios have in common is that they don't have units.

Inches, millimetres, Nelson's Columns or Titanics all become irrelevant for a ratio.

I wish LR would allow custom ratios to be favourited.. so you could enter a custom ratio as needed whilst retaining your most frequently used ones. I know it could be done with a preset, but this seems like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut.

It should retain the memory of your custom crop sizes under the 'Enter Custom' line on the drop down menu. I'm not certain how many it stores though.

The custom sizes are sequentially over-written in the menu, I think it's only the last six you've used that are retained.

Just wish I could specify a number of pixels to crop rather than just a ratio....

Crop to the ratio you want and then specify the longest pixel dimension when you export.

So if you want 800x300, crop to 8:3 and then set the longest dimension to 800 pixels when you export. I've run with the Mogrify plug-in for so long I'm not sure if this export option is available as standard or only when using Mogrify. I can very highly recommend the Mogrify plug-in.

But I don't want to export and have it resize, I just want to be able to do a 100% crop at the size I want.
