I've obviously had a bit of an issue with a catalogue, all folders added past 2 weeks ago are no longer showing in the drop down list. The photos are still there, it seems to have retained all editing info, but the actual folders are not in the list so I can't quickly jump between sets, I have to find a photo I knew was in that set, by looking in the main 'all images' area, go into library and click the folder data for that image. Any ideas? How do I re-add the folder into the hierarchal list without re-adding all the images?!

If the images are there right click one image from one folder and select "show in Explorer" (show in Finder on a mac).

Point it to the image on your hard drive and all others in the folder should auto update.

Do that for images in each folder although it sounds odd that the folders are missing?.....

Cheers Eos_JD for your thoughts - no joy! Just tried importing a new folder into the catalogue, works fine, close LR down, reopen catalogue, folder gone. Seems a bit borked. :(

Is lightroom opening the same catalogue each time?
Are you in the Library panel?
Are there images still in the catalogue?

I swap between various catalogues, it's only the particular one I am having issues with
Library panel indeed, I can see previous folders, Just any folders with images added from Feb 1st onwards are not showing.
Most images are still in there, and if I go into 'all photo's' you can see the later images, you can also use the right hand panel image info to jump to the folder they're in, but the actual folders themselves, not appearing in the lists.

If there a filter on?

Bottom left..... Can you see the number of photos? If you have xxxx images in your catalogue does it say xxx of xxxx/y selected? (xxxx being yopur number of images and y being the images(s) selected)

Do a control A to select them all - How many are selected?
Should be the same number. If not some are hidden by filters
